Any unexpected changes or lumps in the breast tissue, whether benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous), are referred to as breast abnormalities. These abnormalities, which are frequently found via breast self-examinations or screening tests like mammograms and ultrasounds, can include lumps, cysts, changes in breast skin, nipple discharge, or other structural changes. Small lumps or fibroadenomas (typically less than 3 cm) can be successfully removed with vacuum-assisted excision biopsy (VAEB), an ultrasound-guided procedure that causes little damage and produces good cosmetic results.
